Who?
- 2 million child sex trafficking victims today.
- The majority of victims are between 18 and 24 years of age.
- Most of the trafficking victims have at least a middle-level education
- Between 14,500 and 17,500 human beings are being trafficked into the U.S. each year.
- 46% of the victims know the traffickers who enslave them.
- Atlanta, GA contains the highest number of human beings are being trafficked into the U.S. each year.
- Every year, human traffickers earn about $32 billion in profits, which is more than Nike, Google and Starbucks combined.
- $15.5 billion of that $32 billion is earned in industrialized countries like the United States.
- The average price of a slave has decreased significantly over the past 200 years. In 1809, the average price adjusted to today's value was around $40,000. In 2009, the average price of a slave was just $90.
