"My junior year I wrote a research paper about counseling victims of human trafficking. I had heard of human trafficking before that, but taking time to dig deeper and deeper into the issue hit a nerve. I was horrified that this evil not only existed, but that it was going largely unnoticed. I want Ball State students to be accurately informed about human trafficking and equipped to fight against it in real and lasting ways."

"My vision is that Ball State IJM will be used by God to make a tangible difference in our campus and the community and that our support of IJM's work will continue to free people from oppression world-wide. I hope that our organization can serve as an example of Christians joining to take action. I also envision the members of IJM continuing to grow in our commitment to fulfill what God has required of us in Micah 6:8 - that we will "seek justice, love, mercy, and walk humbly with our God."

"I learned about human trafficking in high school and I was really passionate about ending it. Then I was in a social justice workshop at a winter retreat my sophomore year at BSU and that's when I realized I wanted to be a part of IJM and make my life about fighting injustice. I think Ball State should realize that human trafficking is not just happening in some random country across the world, it's happening right here in America. Also, I want them to be empowered and understand that they can make a difference and fight with us to end slavery in our generation."

“I first heard about human trafficking during my freshman year at Ball State University. I shook my head in disbelief as someone explained there are more slaves in the world today than any other time in human history; it seemed impossible. Now, as the horrifying reality of human trafficking continues to sink in, I feel called to take a stand. I believe Jesus Christ stood for everything worth doing. He stood for the oppressed, the fatherless and the widow, and he calls his followers to do the same (Isaiah 1:17). Jesus stood for justice and so will I.”

"I learned about human trafficking in high school from a friend, but I didn't understand how real of a problem it is and that it's happening in the United States until I went to the Passion conference in Atlanta, GA a few years ago. After that conference, I wanted to get involved and join the BSU chapter of IJM to help educate this community support IJM however we can."

"I first heard that human trafficking, or modern day slavery, was not only real, but a massive problem, when I was in high school. I heard about IJM through a friend and knew I wanted working and fighting for justice for all people to be something that I was about. Ball State IJM has been a way to practically do this in my everyday life and to help bring awareness to other BSU students."

"When I came to college, I had no idea what human trafficking was. I was even more shocked when I learned that it happens here in the U.S. I became more involved with IJM because I believe that this ignorance should not persist. Unawareness is just not acceptable. Never has being unaware of a problem ever made that problem cease to exist. Only when light is shed on the truth will there be change. IJM is involved in the change that I want to be a part of."
